Mercury Monterey - 5th Gen (1961 to 1964)

The fifth generation Mercury Monterey was introduced for the 1961 model year. This new and updated generation saw the Monterey return to the top of Mercury's model lineup until 1964, and was offered as a sedan, coupe, convertible, or station wagon. For the 1962 model year, an inline six engine was offered on the Monterey 6, but all other engines used were V8 units. Other than Standard or base offerings, the most notable variant was the S-55. The fifth generation Monterey was in production until 1964, when it was replaced by the Sixth Generation Mercury Monterey.
