MG A (1955 to 1962)

The MG A represented a departure for MG sports cars, as it was the first to have modern styling with fenders integrated into the rest of the car. As MG was now part of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) alongside many other automakers, the MG A used the corporate B-series inline four engine originally developed by Austin. Initially sized at 1489cc, in 1959 the MG A recieved a 1588cc version, alongside standard front disc brakes. 1961 brought a bit more displacement to the MkII MG A, up to 1622cc. Over the course of production, four main variants were produced, the 1500, Twin-Cam, 1600, and the Mk II. In addition to standard roadgoing versions, many MGAs were converted for use as Race Cars.
