Nissan Maxima - A33B - 5th Gen (2000 to 2002)

The fifth generation of Nissan Maxima, also known as the A33B, was introduced in 2000. It retained the front-wheel drive four-door sedan format and continued to refine its focus as a high-performance sedan within the upper-midsize segment. Equipped with the reliable 3L V6 engine (VQ30DE), this generation offered a smooth yet powerful driving experience, especially in the SE trim, which included a 5-speed manual transmission for enthusiasts, in addition to the option of a 4-speed automatic. In later model years, some markets also received the 3.5L VQ35DE, elevating the Maxima's power and appeal relative to the competition. This model was characterized by combining luxury, reliability, and a sporty touch, all within a more stylish, substantial, and better-equipped package, reaffirming its nickname as a "4-door sports car." The Nissan Maxima A33B was produced until 2002, before it was replaced by the A34.
