The Prinz Spider was introduced in 1964 as a sporty and compact version of the NSU Prinz. It had a 4 speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive and a two-seater convertible body with a lightweight and stylish design that gave it remarkable agility in both city and highway driving. Among its most striking features was the pioneering use of the Wankel rotary engine of 498cc, which offered smooth operation and a driving experience very different from the conventional piston engines of the time. The NSU Prinz Spider was produced until 1967.
