Oldsmobile introduced the sixth generation of 88 for the 1965 model year. The sixth generation of 88 was a V8 powered coupe, convertible, or sedan. This generation saw a lot of shuffling of trim names. The top of the line trim was now known as the Delta, while the base trim was known as the Jetstar. Other trim levels such as the Delmont and Royale also featured during the sixth generation. Production of the 6th gen 88 lasted until 1970, when it was replaced by the Seventh Generation Oldsmobile 88.
