The Opel Blitz was a series of light and middleweight trucks built by  Opel beginning in 1930. The Blitz (German for lightning) saw more than 130,000 examples built between 1930 and 1944 after the German pre-war government ordered the construction of the Opelwerk Brandenburg facilities as part of a re-armament effort. The Opel Blitz was powered by many engine options along its life and was available in different load capacities. Production of the Opel Blitz ended in 1975.
