Renault introduced the Safrane in 1992. The Safrane was a series of executive five door hatchbacks that were powered by a selection of inline four or V6 engines. The most notable Safrane variant was the Biturbo, which was powered by a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine sourced from the Aline A610. The Renault Safrane was in production until 2000, and was replaced by the Renault Vel Satis.
