The first generation of Saab 900 was introduced in 1978. The first generation, which is also known as the 'Classic' generation, was offered as a mid-range convertible, sedan, or liftback. The first generation was fitted with a range of front mounted naturally aspirted or turbocharged inline four engines powering the front wheels.
