Studebaker Commander - 3rd Gen (1947 to 1952)

The third generation of Studebaker Commander debuted for the 1947 model year. After WW2, Studebaker dropped its premium President model, thus making the Commander the company's top offering. The third generation Commander was available in two door sedan, business coupe, convertible, and a top of the line four door sedan variant known as the Land Cruiser. Initially, this generation was only available with two inline six engine options, but starting in 1951, Studebaker introduced a V8 engine option. Production of the third generation Commander lasted until 1952, when it was replaced by the Fourth Generation Studebaker Commander.
