Due to the popularity of the 1990 to 1993 fifth-generation Toyota Celica, it was commonly used as a race car. While many examples were privately converted into race cars, there were also factory built machines based on the GT-Four RC, also called the ST185, which was homologated for racing in Group A racing. Rally racing isn't the only discipline Celicas participated in. The cars were used for celebrity races and available for privateer racing as well.
