Toyota Cressida - X30/40 - 1st Gen (1976 to 1980)

The first generation Toyota Cressida was introduced in 1976. Also known as the X30 or X40, the 1st Gen was available in 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon body styles, ponwered by inline four or six engines. Displacement was of 2.6L and 2.8L depending on the market, coupled to a 4 or 5-speed manual and a 3-speed automatic transmission. It was rear-wheel drive and its boxy design, along with advanced equipment for the time such as air conditioning and power steering in some versions, positioned it as an affordable option within the executive sedan segment. The X30/X40 first generation Toyota Cressida was produced until 1980, when it was replaced by the X50/60 second generation.
