Toyota Hilux Surf - 1st Gen (1984 to 1989)

The Hilux Surf N60 was introduced by Toyota in 1984 as the models 1st Gen. It was a 2-door SUV that included a removable fiberglass rear body, although in later years a fixed metal roof was offered. It was available with gasoline engines such as the 1.8L 1Y, 2.0L 3Y and the 2.4L 22R/22R-E, as well as diesel options such as the 2.0L and 2.4L naturally aspirated or turbodiesel, all being inline four. It was offered with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, and had rear-wheel drive with the option of selectable all-wheel drive. This generation marked the beginning of the Surf as a robust, practical, and versatile SUV for the Japanese market.The Hilux Surf N60 was produced until 1989 and replaced by the 2nd Gen N120/N130 Hilux Surf.
