The Vauxhall Monaro was a rear-wheel-drive, front-engined coupe from the British manufacturer that was introduced for the 2002 model year. It shares its platform with the Holden HSV coupe, Pontiac GTO. The Monaro was powered by two GM V8 engine options, the LS1 and the LS2, with both available with manual or automatic transmissions. The car produced 350hp (LS1) or 400hp (LS2), depending on the engine. Vauxhall offered the high-performance VXR500 in its final production year. The VXR500 was a supercharged LS2 motor producing 500hp. In 2006, the Monaro ended production and was replaced by the Vauxhall VXR8.
