The Volvo 140 Series was a series of mid size cars introduced in 1966. The 140 Series was available in three body styles, a two door sedan (142), a four door sedan (144), and a station wagon (145). Initially, the 140 was fitted with a 1.8L inline four engine, but starting in 1971, a 2.0L inline four unit was used. Volvo also featured 'S' variants, were were sportier versions of the base model, these models featured the 'S' after the body styles (i.e. 144S). Production of the Volvo 140 Series ended in 1974, with the model being replaced by the Volvo 200 Series.
