The Volvo 440, made from 1988 to 1996, built on the same base as the sportier Volvo 480 was Volvo’s answer to the growing need for practical but stylish small cars. Inside, the 440 had a roomy interior with comfortable seats, easy-to-use controls, and Volvo’s well-known focus on safety and comfort. Sseveral engines, from an economical 1.6L to a more powerful 2.0L petrol, plus a 1.9L Turbodiesel. The car sent power to the front wheels through either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.
