International Harvester, also known as International, or IHC, is an American manufacturer that has built agricultural equipement as well as a wide range of trucks and commercial vehicles. International Harvester traces its roots to the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, an entity that built agricultural reapers, and would eventually merge with a few other entities to form the International Harvester Company in 1902. Alongside its agricultural products, IHC entered the automotive world with the Auto Buggy & Auto Wagon, the company's first motorized cars. IHC grew and built a wide range of light, medium, and heavy duty trucks, such as the KB-Series, L-Series, R-Series, and D-Series. Alongside its trucks, IHC also introduced the famed Scout and Travelall, which were precursors to modern SUVs and off-road vehicles. In late 1984, International Harvester sold its agricultural products division, and renamed itself Navistar International, now only focused on producing engines and heavy duty commercial vehicles.
