327/350hp, Power Steering, Standard Trim, Original AM-FM Radio w/Power Antenna, standard 4-wheel disc brakes, Muncie 4-speed manual transmission w/3.55 Positraction Rear Axle.
I’ve owned this car since 1988 and it was a great driver so my wife and I drove it routinely, but always kept it covered and garaged. It was always our “3rd vehicle” but we took it on weekend trips and I drove it to work and errands, as it was always reliable and fun to drive. Over the decades I had a Corvette restorer in middle-Georgia rebuild the engine and get the 327/350hp motor closer to 350hp in performance, while maintaining correct parts, but not “numbers matching” as the engine block when I bought was not the original 327. Later I had a midwestern Corvette restorer rebuild the transmission and shifter to get it back to full performance, with the same use of correct but not original parts.
Over the years, I’ve kept up with routine maintenance, kept it covered and garaged, but was not driving it as often, mainly because of having kids and needing more than the two seater capacity. I drove it in a few parades, to a few “Coffee & Cars” Saturday morning events, and most recently for my daughter’s wedding as the departure car for she and her husband.
It’s always been a good looking and stable driving car with the power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, and positraction rear end all functioning well making it a fun car to drive. I’ve had offers from a few guys over the years to buy it as a restoration project car, but never when I wanted to part with it. But now, after 38 years of owning it, I believe it’s time to get it into someone else’s hands to give it the TLC it deserves and drive it more frequently.
