What’s special about this listing

We are proud to represent this fantastic 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo on consignment. The seller is the widow of a Porsche collector and has asked us to sell. This car was next in her husband’s collection to refresh just before he passed.

The previous owner of this car was the husband’s close-friend and go-to Porsche mechanic. The car was given to the mechanic on a trade for some work he had done. Unfortunately, the mechanic didn’t have extra room and the car sat outside for sometime.

The husband would see this car every time he visited the mechanic’s shop and finally asked him what the deal was with it. The mechanic explained how he acquired it through a trade and told the husband he was probably going to sell it soon.

Some time had past and the husband gave the mechanic a call about the potential sale. They eventually worked out a deal and the husband drove the car to his facility later that week.

Upon arrival, the husband had the car professionally detailed and then stored amongst the rest of his collection.

This is unfortunately around the time where the husband started to get ill and no longer had the energy to pursue refreshing the car.

Since then, the car has been parked on a four-post lift in the husbands climate-controlled facility.

The widow had the car delivered to our dealership and after a light cleaning, it now sits in our showroom.
The Turbo model of the 944 has several performance advantages over the base 944 or even 944s. Examples being:
- 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque (944s is 208hp and 208 lb-ft of torque)
- Larger brakes shared with the 928 GTS
- Factory adjustable Koni coilovers
- Limited-Slip Differential
- and more

The 944 Turbo was the world’s fastest four-cylinder car in 1989 and had a top speed of 162 mph. With it being faster than most 911’s at the time, it was referred to as a “super car killer”.

The factory original paint on this car is Slate-Grey Metallic (LY7U). The factory original aero, such as the spoiler and rear canards, are intact and in great condition.
The interior is Linen Grey leather and with Linen Grey carpet. The seats are in fantastic condition. The bolstering is supportive and cushioning is comfortable. There are no odors.
All the gauges are operational and the instrument cluster is crystal clear.

In the trunk, the carpet is intact and does not have any odors or issues. Under the carpet, the factory original space-saver spare is securely fastened along with the jack and tools.

Overview of my opinions:

drives great ~ this car starts right up with no issues and cruises down the road great
smooth power ~ the turbo inline-4 is peppy and has great acceleration
superb suspension ~ this car rides over rough asphalt with no issues and feels like tight-road-ready sports car
fantastic interior ~ the seats are plush and comfortable with great bolstering, and all the gauges are clear and operational
zero funky odors ~ there are absolutely no odors at all and 100% not a smoker car
