This Mercedes-Benz SL500 was built in October of 1994 and sold new by Sutherland Mercedes of Spokane WA in March of 1995. The car has always been garaged, residing in Washington State its whole life. Finished in its original color of Black Pearl Metallic (199) with Matt Gray lower body cladding, this SL shows no signs of rust and no major imperfections in the finish or bodywork, based on paint meter readings it is believed to be original paintwork. This car is powered by a 5 liter, DOHC, 30-valve V8 with 315 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include 4-wheel disk brakes w/ABS, ASR traction control, dual front air bags, auto deploy roll bar, and a remote locking system. The cabin is trimmed in beautiful Parchment Leather (275) across the seats and door cards while the upper dash, steering wheel, and shift knob are finished in Black. All leather surfaces show minimal signs of use consistent with the low mileage. The Beige carpets are topped by new beige coco floor mats. The center console is accented with Burl Walnut wood and interior features include: original am/fm cassette head unit, optional trunk mounted CD changer, power antenna, automatic climate control, power side and rearview mirrors, power steering column, power windows, a power roll bar, power memory seats with integrated seatbelts, and a full power folding soft top with removable hardtop.
This SL5000 is a North American-spec example and features halogen headlamps with wipers, front and rear fog lamps, 50 state emissions with catalyst. The car retains its original chrome, 16-inch, 8-hole alloy wheels that wear Michelin tires in factory-spec 225/55/16 that were installed in May of 2021 at 48,323 miles. In April 2025, the car had a new distributor cap/rotor, power steering fluid flush, coolant flush, new front brake pads/rotors and bleed braking system. All electrical equipment is in excellent working condition and the car is in top mechanical condition with no known faults. Included with the SL are its original owner's manual book set, 3 sets of keys, removable wind screen, spare wheel, tool kit, hard top stand, service records going back to new, clean CarFax report, and clear WA title. In preparation for sale, a fresh service was performed by Authentic Motorcars consisting of changing the oil and cabin filter, replacing distributor cap shields, cleaning the cap and rotor, installing a new hood insulation pad, and replacing both upper hydraulic top rams. The car drives excellent and is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
