The Porsche 911 Turbo - 997.1 was introduced for model year 2007 (2006 in Europe) and is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter engine producing at least 473hp. Porsche offered a Sport Chrono option that allowed the car to raise the maximum turbo boost pressure for ten seconds, which added torque and power for a hot lap. Approximately 15,600 coupes were produced and 6,100 cabrios, in both 6-speed manual and Tiptronic (automatic) transmissions, for a total production of 21,725. It evolved into the 997.2 Turbo for the 2010 model year.
