The 997.2 Carrera 4S was an evolution of the earlier 997.1 Carrera 4S. It retained the 3.8 liter engine, but this time producing 380 hp as opposed to the 355 hp from its predecessor. Approximately 9,188 coupes and 7,775 cabriolets were built, for a total production of 16,963, sold during model years 2009 to 2012. It was replaced by the 991.1 Carrera 4S in model year 2013.
