The second generation of Audi A4 was introduced for the 2001 model year. The second generation of A4 was known as the B6, and was offered as a sedan, convertible, or 'Avant' station wagon. The A4 (B6) was available with a range of inline four, V6, and V8 engines, and included the notable S4 performance variant as the top offering. Production of the second generation A4 sedan and station wagon continued until 2005, while production of the convertible continued until 2006.
