The BMW R69 was a series of motorcycles that debuted in 1955. The R69 was a shaft driven sport bike that was powered by a 594cc, horizontally opposed twin engine that generated 35hp which it sent to the rear wheel via a 4 speed transmission. Although production of the R69 ended in 1960, BMW continued to build two evolutions (R69S, R69US) of the R69 until 1969. A total of 2,956 examples of the BMW R69 were built.
