The BMW 3.3 Li was a long wheelbase variant of the BMW E3 New Six that debuted in 1975. The 3.3 Li represented the pinnacle of luxury for the E3 Sedans, combining a range of luxury trimmings, as well as a torquey powerplant. Although the name would suggest a 3.3L engine, these cars were actually fitted with a 3.2L fuel-injected version of BMW's M30 inline six engine. While output from engine was comparable to the 3.0 Si, the greater torque from the larger powerplant gave the 3.3 Li a more refined, luxury feel. These rear wheel drive sedans were equipped as standard with a four speed automatic transmission, but a manual was available as a no-cost option. Production of the BMW 3.3 Li ended in 1977.
