The Bugatti Type 40 was a family of grand tourers that was introduced in 1926. The Type 40 was available in tourer or roadster body styles, and was powered by a 1.5L inline four engine that sent drive to the rear wheels via a manual transmission. A 1.6L-engined version of the Type 40 known as the Type 40A was also offered in 1930. Around 830 examples of the Bugatti Type 40 were built before the end of production in 1930.
