The Daimler Straight Eight was a family of cars named for their inline eight engines. Introduced in 1934 for the 1935 model year, the Straight Eight was available in a variety of open and closed body styles. These rear wheel drive cars were initially powered by a 3.8L, but were offered with a 4.6L from 1935. In addition to these standard engines, a new 3.8L inline eight was available from 1936, this all new unit was known as the Light Straight Eight. Production of the Daimler Straight Eight ended in 1938.
