Delahaye was a French autmotive manufacturer that was established in 1894. Founded by &Eacute;mile Delahaye, his namesake company was known for creating automobiles that combined luxury and performance. Early models such as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/type-43/">Type 43</a> and <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/type-48/">Type 48</a> helped established the company&#39;s reputation, whereas highly regarded models such as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/135/">135</a> and <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/175/">175</a> cemented Delahaye as a world class automaker. In the post-WW2 years, the company struggled to revive its pre-war success, with late models such as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/235/">235</a> unable to save the company from exiting the automotive world in 1954.

The Delahaye 135M was a family of cars introduced in 1936. The 135M was a variant of the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/135/">Delahaye 135</a> that featured a larger, more powerful engine. This new 3.6L inline six was offered with single, double, or triple carburetors, with the top spec unit generating 115hp. The rear wheel drive 135M was available in a range of open or closed body styles from coachbuilders such as Chapron, Figoni &amp; Falaschi, and Saoutchik. Delahaye built the 135M until 1954, although production halted during WW2.

Introduced in 1936, the Delahaye 135MS was the top variant offered for the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/135/">Delahaye 135</a>. A performance focused variant, the 135MS featured a tuned version of the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/delahaye/135/135m/">135M</a>&#39;s 3.6L inline six engine, that generated up to 140hp depending on the number of carburetors. Delahaye also offered competition versions of the 135MS that featured a shortened chassis as well as an even more highly tuned engine.
