The premium station wagon of the Ford division, the Country Squire was distinguished by its external woodgrain trim. As part of this line, Ford debuted their new line of wood paneled, two door station wagons. For the 1949 model year, and early 1950 models, these cars were offered in Custom and Custom Deluxe trim, but did not feature an independent name. It was not until early 1950 that the name <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/ford/country-squire/">Country Squire</a> was applied to these cars. The first generation of Country Squire represented the top station wagon offering from Ford.
