Produced between 1997 and 2004, the 10th generation of the Ford F-Series represented a major change to Ford's family of trucks with the F-Series pickup line essentially split in two. For the 1999 model year, the company decided to make the F-150 a contemporary vehicle for personal use, while the F-250 and F-350 would continue separately under the Ford F-Series Super Duty model line. The most notable variant in the 10th generation was the performance focused SVT Lightning. Production ended in 2004 with the introduction of the eleventh generation Ford F-Series.
