Ford F-150 - 9th Gen (1992 to 1996)

The Ford F-150 was a variant of the Ninth Generation F-Series that was introduced for the 1992 model year. While primarily based on the chassis from the Eighth Generation F-Series, the redesigned 1992 F-Series, known to enthusiasts as "Aeronose" or "OBS (Old Body Style)," brought many aerodynamic changes to the exterior and enhanced interior comfort and safety. The F-150 was based on the 1/2 ton chassis and was configurable with various body options. These options were a regular cab or a two-door Supercab with the option of a short "Styleside" or "Flareside" bed and a long "Flareside" bed. Both beds and cabs could be optioned as on a two or four-wheel drive drivetrain. Engines offered on the F-150 were a 300cid (4.9L) inline six and two V8's, a 302cid (5.0L) and a 351cid (5.8L). All engines featured Electonic Fuel Injection or EFI. Transmissions offered were a 4 speed automatic or a 5 speed manual, depending on engine and drivetrain. Trims offered included the entry-level Custom (later XL), mid-level XLT, appearance modifying Nite, 4X4 Offroad, and the top-of-the-line trims, Lariat and Eddie Bauer. Launched in 1993, the performance-focused SVT Lightning was the most notable variant of the Ninth Generation F-150, produced until 1995 and replaced by the Tenth Generation's SVT Lightning. The Ninth Generation F-150 ceased production in 1996 replaced by the Tenth Generation F-Series.
