International Harvester

International Harvester, also known as International, or IHC, is an American manufacturer that has built agricultural equipement as well as a wide range of trucks and commercial vehicles. International Harvester traces its roots to the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, an entity that built agricultural reapers, and would eventually merge with a few other entities to form the International Harvester Company in 1902. Alongside its agricultural products, IHC entered the automotive world with the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/auto-buggy-wagon/">Auto Buggy &amp; Auto Wagon</a>, the company&#39;s first motorized cars. IHC grew and built a wide range of light, medium, and heavy duty trucks, such as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/kb-series/">KB-Series</a>, <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/l-series/">L-Series</a>, <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/r-series/">R-Series</a>, and <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/d-series/">D-Series</a>. Alongside its trucks, IHC also introduced the famed <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/scout/">Scout</a> and <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/travelall/">Travelall</a>, which were precursors to modern SUVs and off-road vehicles. In late 1984, International Harvester sold its agricultural products division, and renamed itself Navistar International, now only focused on producing engines and heavy duty commercial vehicles.

The International Harvester Auto Buggy was the first automobile produced by the company. Introduced in 1907, the Auto Buggy was fitted with a flat two cylinder engine, and featured notable ground clearance as opposed to other early automobiles. In 1908, International Harvester introduced a variant known as the Auto Wagon that featured bench seating and a truckbed. The International Harvester C-Series was a series of light pickup trucks that were introduced for 1962. The C-Series was the successor to the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/b-series/">International Harvester B-Series</a>, and was offered in a range of sizes and capacities, including 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton versions. While the styling saw moderate updating, a new chassis and new suspension were the most notable upgrades. As well as standard cabs, the C-Series also featured a four door crew cab known as the Travelette. Initially, these trucks were named C-100 to C-130, depending on their payload, but in 1963, the naming convention changed to C-900 to C-1500. These names were once again updated in 1965, featuring the letter &#39;D&#39; instead of the previous &#39;C.&#39; In 1966, International Harvester continued their yearly updating of names, this time featuring the letter &#39;A&#39; as a designator (900A-1500A). 1967 saw the use of the letter &#39;B,&#39; and 1968 saw the return of &#39;C&#39;, this time known as 900C-1500C. The International Harvester D-Series was a family of light pickup trucks introduced for the 1969 model year.&nbsp; The D-Series was also known as the &#39;Light Line,&#39; and was the successor to the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/international-harvester/c-series/">International Harvester C-Series</a>. This family of pickups was offered in a variety of sizes and capacities, with the initial models sold under 1000D, 1100D, 1200D, 1300D, and 1500D names, with the 1500D being the largest offering.
