As a successor to the Delta HF Integrale 16v, at the September 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show, Lancia introduced a heavily revised Delta HF which became better known as the HF Integrale "Evoluzione" or simply HF integrale "Evo". Evoluzione cars were built from October 1991 through 1992. Modified versions of the Evo 1 won the Group A World Rally Championship for a record sixth year in succession, before Lancia withdrew from the sport at the end of an unsuccessful 1993 season. The Evo 1's were succeeded by the final iteration of the Delta in 1993, the Evo II.
