Mercedes-Benz 280CE - W114 (1973 to 1976)

The Mercedes-Benz 280CE was a variant of the W114 Coupe that was introduced for the 1973 model year. The 280 CE was one of the top variants offered for the W114, and was equipped with Mercedes' M110.981 engine. This 2.8L inline six was fitted with Bosch's D-Jetronic fuel-injection system and generated 185hp and 176 lb ft of torque. This power was sent to the rear wheels via manual and automatic transmissions. The W114 Mercedes-Benz 280CE ended production in 1976, with 11,518 examples built. The 280CE model series would continue life in the next generation Mercedes-Benz E as the W123 Mercedes-Benz 280CE.
