The Mercedes-Benz 230 was a variant of the W114 Sedan that debuted for the 1969 model year. The 230 was offered on both the standard and long wheelbase, and although only available from the factory in a four door sedan body style, a variety of coachbuilt station wagon, ambulance, and hearse bodies were also built by a variety of companies. Production of the W114 Mercedes-Benz 230 ended in 1973, with 152,822 examples built. The 230 would reappear for the next generation Mercedes-Benz E as the W123 Mercedes-Benz 230.
