The Mercedes-Benz W114 & W115 are a series of cars introduced for the 1969 model year. Part of the Mercedes-Benz E lineage, the W114 & W115 differ mainly in their engines. This family of cars is commonly referred to as "Stroke Eight," due to the "/8" found on their ID tags. The "8" in /8 signifies the launch year for the model. The W114 is considered more upmarket and featured inline 6 engines while the W115 was more entry level, and was largely powered by inline 4 engines. Built until 1976, the W114 & W115 were replaced by the Mercedes-Benz W123.
