The Mercedes-Benz 230C was a variant of the C123 Coupe that debuted for the 1978 model year. The 230 C was powered by Mercedes' M115.954 engine, which was a carbureted 2.3L inline four that generated 109hp. These cars were available with either a 4 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission, both of which sent drive to the rear wheels. A total of 18,675 examples were built before production of the 230C ended and the model series was replaced by the W123 Mercedes-Benz 230CE.
