The Mercedes-Benz 200 was a variant of the W123 Sedan that was introduced for the 1977 model year. The 200 was initially powered by Mercedes' M115.938 engine, which was a carbureted 2.0L inline four that generated 94hp. This engine was replaced for the 1981 model year by the M102.920. Although this new engine was also a carbureted 2.0L inline four, it generated more power, with an output of 109hp.  Power was sent from the engine to the rear wheels via 4 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission. A total of 158,772 examples of the W123 Mercedes-Benz 200 were built before production ended in 1985.
