When Mercedes-Benz introduced the very successful W123, AMG started to figure out how to tune this variant to its core and keep building their already noticeable name in the auto market. When the 280E AMG was unveiled, the result was stunning. A tunning package that included a 25hp upgrade thanks to the modified camshafts, a complete aerodynamic package, 15" Penta wheels, black exterior trim, leather AMG steering wheel. Unofficial information reveals that only two sedans, 2 estates and just one coupe were modified. An AMG kit was also offered and could be installed in all W123 sedans including diesel powered. Around 1500 kits where installed.
