Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII (2001 to 2003)

The Evolution VII was the seventh iteration of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and was introduced in 2001. The Evo VII was the first Lancer Evolution variant not to be used as the basis for a World Rally Championship entry, and as such was free from various competitive constraints. A larger chassis was used for the Evo VII, but the all wheel drive and 2.0L turbocharged inline four engine remained. RS (Rally Sport) and GSR (Gran Sport Racing) trim levels were also available, as well as the new GT-A which featured an automatic transmission. Production of the Evolution VII lasted until 2003, when it was replaced by the Mitsubishi Evolution VIII.
