Porsche 911 Targa - Automatic - 996.2 (2002 to 2005)

The Porsche 911 Targa - Tiptronic was available between 2002 and 2005 (996.2). The Targa (semi-convertible) is the rarest bodystyle in the 996 series, with approximately 5,100 built. The Targa used a single, lift-off panel to offer an open-air experience while giving rollover protection not afforded by a traditional convertible. The M96 3.6 liter flat 6 is rated at 320 hp, driving the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic (Tiptronic S) transmission. Oftentimes considered a separate model variant within the 996 series, the Targa has the same drivetrain and chassis configuration as the rest of the 996 Carrera lineup.
