The Saab 99 was a series of compact executive cars introduced for the 1969 model year. The 99 was created to give Saab a larger model to partner with its already established compact models. Over the course of its production, the 99 was fitted with a range of naturally aspirated or turbocharged inline four engines that were fitted to sedan or liftback body styles. The most notable variant was the sporty 99 Turbo, which was one of the first mass produced cars to feature turbocharging, and is held in high regard by the automotive world. The Saab 99 and its variants were in production until 1984.
