Suzuki DL Series (2002 to 2027)

The Suzuki DL Series, better known globally as the V-Strom range, debuted with the DL1000 V-Strom in 2002 and continues today through successive generations that include the DL1000, DL650, DL250, and the modern DL1050, with major redesigns arriving in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2020. The DL series helped define the practical middle ground between touring motorcycles and off-road-capable adventure bikes. Power comes from liquid-cooled 90 degree V twin engines ranging from 248 cc to 1,037 cc, with the flagship DL1050 producing approximately 106 hp. Drivetrains are chain-driven, with six-speed manual transmissions across the large displacement models and no automatic option offered.
