Toyota Celica GT - 2nd Gen (1978 to 1981)

Toyota's second generation of the Celica GT began in 1978. The GT was a more luxurious version of the base ST. The two variants shared the same engine, the 20R 2.2L four-cylinder and in 1981, a 2.4L 22R. The GT would see an optional upgrade called the U.S. Grand Prix special edition. Just 200 examples of the car were built and they came in red, white, or blue for the 1980 model year. They had added luxury and style but offered the same performance. In 1981 a GTA version was conceived to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Celica.
