Toyota Celica - 7th Gen (1999 to 2006)

The seventh-generation Toyota Celica, released in 1999, was a radical departure from its predecessors. The Celica became lighter at about 2500 lbs, got an entirely new exterior design, and was equipped with two new engines a 1.8-liter inline-four (1ZZ-FE) and (2ZZ-GE). The U.S. would get the GT and GTS variants, but Toyota did not make a new GT-Four for this generation. In Japan, the SS-I and SS-II designations would continue to be used, whereas in Europe, the VVT-i and VVTL-i valve timing systems will be used to denote the various models. As of 2006, the Celica has reached the conclusion of its seventh generation.
