Triumph Triton (1950 to 1979)

The Triton model was not a Triumph Motorcycles factory model, but a handcrafted hybrid motorcycle that was very popular between the 1950s and 1970s, especially in British cafe racer culture. It combined the best of two worlds: the Norton Featherbed chassis, famous for its excellent handling and Triumph's twin-cylinder 500cc, 650cc and even 750cc engines, which offered greater power and reliability. There were no official versions, as each Triton was unique, built by workshops, dealers or enthusiasts, although some tuners like Dresda offered standardized conversion kits. Its handcrafted production began in the 1950s, reached its peak in the 1960s, and although it lost prominence in the 1970s to Japanese bikes, it remains today a symbol of the ingenuity and passion for custom classic motorcycles.
