The TVR Tuscan was a series of sports cars introduced in 1967. The Tuscan was initially powered by a Ford Windsor V8 (4.7L, 5.0L) engine, but was later joined by a 3.0L V6 option in 1970. These two door coupes both used 4 speed manual transmissions to send power to the rear wheels. A total of 174 examples of the TVR Tuscan were made before the end of production in 1971. TVR would use the Tuscan name in the future for the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/tvr/tuscan/challenge/">Tuscan Challenge</a> and the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/tvr/tuscan/speed-six/">Tuscan Speed Six</a>.

Known as the Tuscan Speed Six, this new iteration of the Tuscan was offered in a two door convertible targa top body style, and featured a front mounted inline six engine. Over the course of production, this &#39;Speed Six&#39; inline six engine was available in 3.6L, 4.0L, and 4.2L displacements, all of which were paired to a 5 speed manual transmission that sent power to the rear wheels. The Tasmin is considered to be the first model from what would become TVR&#39;s &quot;Wedge-Series,&quot; which was a range of TVR offerings that featured a distinctive angular wedge shape. Offered as a two door roadster, the Tasmin was available with a carbureted 2.0L inline four (Tasmin 200), or a fuel-injected 2.8L V6 (Tasmin 280i) engine, both of which were offered with manual or automatic transmission options. In 1984, after poor sales from the Tasmin 200, the Tasmin dropped the smaller engine option, and became known as the TVR 280i.
