Making its debut in 1931, the Vauxhall Cadet was a new design inspired by new owners of Vauxhall, GM. The car was affordable and the first British car to feature a synchromesh transmission. The Cadet was produced in two variants of different horsepower ratings, the VY was a tax-rated 17hp, and the VX was 26hp tax-rated. After production of the Cadet ended in 1933, it was replaced by the Big Six and Light Six.
