About this 2002 Land Rover Range Rover 30th Anniversary Edition

VIN: SALLPAMJ41A450438

Range Rover P38 – A Piece of Automotive History

The Range Rover P38 represents an important chapter in automotive history. It was the model that helped modernize the British automotive industry and is widely regarded as the first vehicle to truly embody the concept of a modern SUV.

Advanced for its time, it featured sophisticated electronics and an innovative suspension system, making it a flagship of the automotive industry in its era.

The 30th Anniversary edition, launched in late 2001, was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first Range Rover introduced in 1971, the Suffix A. This special edition is distinguished by its exclusive Wimbledon Green exterior color. The side mirrors and bumpers are also painted in the same body color—something previously seen only on Autobiography versions.

Inside, the vehicle features matching interior details in the same green tone, including elements of the upholstery, as well as accents on the steering wheel, gear selector, and handbrake. Most 30th Anniversary models were equipped with green seats; however, this particular example is fitted with the optional Comfort seats, which cost approximately €2,000 when new. These seats provide enhanced comfort, particularly for rear passengers, and are better suited for two occupants in the rear, although the vehicle is equipped with seatbelts for five passengers.

Only 200 units of the Range Rover P38 30th Anniversary were produced:

100 left-hand drive

100 right-hand drive

All were equipped with the renowned Land Rover 4.6-litre V8 engine.

In the specific vehicle now offered for sale, everything functions exactly as it did from the factory and remains fully original. This includes the cassette radio, the CD changer located in the boot, and the Harman Kardon sound system, all in excellent working condition. The navigation system operates perfectly, although its practical use today is limited; nevertheless, it retains the originality and charm of a system that is nearly a quarter of a century old.

The sunroof operates flawlessly, as does the air suspension, which has recently undergone a comprehensive overhaul with new air springs and a new compressor.

The climate control system is fully functional:

The air conditioning cools effectively

The heating performs as intended

The windscreen demisting system works perfectly

The gearbox has been fully reconditioned, at a cost of €2,200, and is now in like-new condition. The transfer case has also been reconditioned at a cost of €1,080.

As visible in the photos, the genuine wood trim, in excellent condition, combined with the cream leather seats and green accents, gives the vehicle the unmistakable elegance and refined character of a true British classic.

The 18-inch Hurricane wheels are original and completely free of scratches. In my opinion, they are the wheels that suit this model best.

Many additional maintenance works and improvements have been carried out. Please feel free to ask any questions.
