The Austin Light Twelve was a series of cars introduced in 1932. The Light Twelve was also known as the Light 12/4. Named for its 12 taxable horsepower, this new line of cars was named the 'Light' Twelve, as Austin already had their Twelve in production, this model became known as the 'Heavy' Twelve. These cars were available in saloon, tourer, estate, van, and pickup body styles, all of which were powered by an inline four engine. This 1535cc engine sent drive to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. Production of the Austin Light Twelve continued until 1939.
