BMW 740i - F01 (2009 to 2015)

The BMW 740i was a variant of the F01 7 Series that was introduced for the 2009 model year. The 740i was offered on the 7 Series' short wheelbase and was only built in a sedan body style. These luxury cars were initially powered by BMW's N54 engine, which was a 322hp twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline six, but from the 2013 model year, the new N55 engine was used, which was a 315hp turbocharged inline six. From launch until the 2013 model year, a 6 speed automatic transmission sent drive to the rear wheels, but after 2013, an 8 speed automatic was used. Production of the F01 BMW 740i lasted until 2015.
